Welcome to my historical world of Romance. The theme running through my Texas based books is a belief that Indians were as family oriented and as loving as any race on the planet. We've depicted Indians as nothing but savages for too long. I want to believe that half-breeds were not always born as the result of raids, rape, bloodshed and capture. I want to believe that many children taken by Indians were adopted and grew up perfectly satisfied with their lives. Take a look at my excerpts page. Okay, I can hear the skeptics saying, "That's a Pollyanna attitude!" Well, hey, I do write fiction. My world and people spill from my gray matter. Remember this phrase: My world, my rules. Presently, I'm trying my hand at writing a time-travel. Yeah, I do take my heroine back to the mid 1860s in Central Texas. What can I say? I love the era. I'm told by many that my voice lends itself to historical. So, my biggest challenge in writing a time travel is to always have my heroine's dialogue sound 21st Century. Pull up a chair and stay awhile. Travel to other worlds drawn by some excellent writers I have the pleasure of calling friends. Go to my Links page and click their names to take you to their home pages. Y'all come back, ya hear? One never knows what I'll be up to... UPDATE: I'll be in Orlando, Florida for Romance Writers of America's National writers' conference in July. On July 28th, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., RWA sponsors a ‘Literacy for Life’ book signing that I'm pleased to be a part of. Proceeds from sales of books will be donated to literacy. The public is invited to attend and find books by some of your favorite authors, about 500 of us! I'll be signing Capture an Eagle, so come join us at the Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel Resort. |
